Consumer's Welcome Letter

Consumers, Family members and Guardians: Important information on possible changes in Developmental Therapy Services

You or your family member may receive a letter reducing your Developmental Therapy services. Southeastern Center conducted a chart review of all individuals receiving Developmental Therapy to ensure that we are providing clinically and fiscally responsible services.

Southeastern Center needs to be certain that public funds are used to purchase the right number of hours for the right service to meet the individual needs of a particular consumer.

Developmental Therapy is a time-limited service that is designed to provide focused training and instruction to build skills that a person may not have but has the ability to acquire. It is not designed to assist, support, prompt, supervise or accompany consumers in their daily activities. There may be other services or natural supports that could be used.

If you do receive a letter regarding a reduction in services, there will be instructions in filing a complaint where you can participate in a clinical review of your case. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Carolyn Craddock at 910 332-6841.
